KEIZER,
OREGON (Next door to Salem Oregon) at Renaissance Hotel (formerly
Wittenberg Inn) 5188 Wittenberg Lane NE Saturday May 17,
2008.
This year the theme for the Iris Festival is “ACTS OF KINDNESS” so we
are joining forces with the Keizer Community Food Bank which
epitomizes kindness. A documentary of
the making of the fashion show will air on CCTV.
We know that designers
need as much lead time as possible. The official Iris
Festival site is still displaying last year's Festival information SO
THIS IS THE SITE TO BOOKMARK to get the latest updates on this year's 2008 show.

OVERVIEW OF THE
FASHION SHOW: (After reading the overview you can click on
the DESIGNERS tab or MODELS tab to enter the event.)
1.
Since designers will be invited from everywhere, the event will consist
of a series of mini shows. Each designer (or group of designers) will
be asked to submit a video DVD to preface their segment of the show. It
can be as simple as a name or logo or it can be artsy, contain a
designer interview, or a projected backdrop theme while presenting
on the runway, or a narrative describing the clothes as the models
present. -- anything you want to do. This is a venue for designers
to actually do the mini show of their dreams. Supply your own music
etc. We must get everything in advance so we can assemble a smooth
flowing show and print an impressive program. E-mail promo material to
FoodForFashion Show
Designers may bring their own models or if you would like to be a model
and have no designer or if you are a designer without models, contact

FoodForFashion Show The plan is to have
hair and make-up done on site by make-up artists before the show.
2.
There will be a fashion a photographer present to photograph the event
and the winner of the KIFFI (Keizer Iris Festival Fashion Icon) will get
a free shoot. Others can buy their photos if they like. There will be
other sponsor awards too.
3.
Designers can use the event to promote themselves any way they choose.
There will be a very nice program the designers can utilize. And the
community television station will air the event in several time slots.
Copies of the show will be available for a price. Designers can take it
home to their own local networks. There will also be internet exposure
with all designers credited.
4.
An area will be provided at the event the for the designers to offer
prototypes and take orders if they want. We will try to provide one
mannequin per designer (or group of designers) and dress racks.
5.
The KIFFI (design varies slightly each year) will be awarded to the designer whose creation impacts the
judges the most. The one DESIGN will get the award--not the designer
per se. Last year there were also awards for workmanship etc. but
this year the KIFFI is the ONE to win. We want something SPECIAL that the newspapers
will pick up for promotion for next year. Press releases will be
distributed and you may also release your own.
6.
There is NO FEE for DESIGNERS to participate. Throughout the day
(before the main designer show) stores and businesses
may Rent-The-Runway for $100. (Last year one entrant rented the
runway to show her vintage store items during the day and then showed
her own creations later in the designer show.)
7.
There will be little sponsor gift bags for the models and judges. Small
items from the designers are welcome but not mandatory
